The Wednesday before and the Friday after the Vaurien Worlds the Sneekermeer is in hands of the Frisian ‘Skutsjes’, these ‘Skutsjes’ are old sailing cargo vessels. These Skutsjes are sailing in two weeks time at 9 different places around the province of Friesland. The skutsjes are a Frisian phenomenon, they traditionally sailed races when they had no work for a couple of weeks. Now they sail in the last weeks of July. The races and crew are becoming more and more professional, they steer the ships almost like dinghies.

Because of this event, we advise you to arrive before the 22th July and leave on the 30th July or 1th of August.
